Underwater Hockey Restarts at Childers

The ISIS War Memorial Pool at Childers has now re-opened following a two month maintenance shutdown and UWH will be resuming at the pool from Monday 7th August starting at 6:00pm.

Great Sandy Marine Park Review has Completed

The Dept of Environment and Science has just released an update on the Great Sandy Marine Park review process to advise that the review has been completed and it is now awaiting the legislative processes to formalise the changes to the zoning plan, which is expected to come into effect in early 2024.

Spearfishing World Championship Beckons for Keiren Limpus

Club Vice-president, Keiren Limpus, has been selected to represent Australia, as part of a two man team, at the 2023 CMAS Spearfishing World Championship being held in Laredo-Cantabria, Spain from the 7th - 10th September. Keiren's story has been featured in the June 18 Edition of the BundabergNow digital magazine. The full article can be viewed here.

As entry to the world championship is entirely self-funded, Keiren is currently seeking financial assistance to raise the estimated $15,000 necessary to enable him to get to Spain and compete at this event. Donations can be made at https://gofund.me/82c77c65.

Club Receives Council Grant

After recently receiving a grant under the Bundaberg Regional Council's community grants program which was used to purchase new underwater hockey equipment, the club has now also featured in an article in the June 16 Weekender edition of the BundabergNow digital magazine. UWH will take a break over June & July

There will be no underwater hockey played over the period 1st June through to 31st July as the ISIS War Memorial pool at Childers will be closed for maintenance. UWH is scheduled to resume at Childers on Monday 7th August.

Underwater Hockey Restarts at Childers

As the Norville pool has now closed for winter, underwater hockey has moved back to the indoor, heated ISIS War Memorial pool at Childers for the winter months from May through to September with games being played on Monday nights from 6:00 to 7:30pm.

Please note that there will however be a short break for June and July when the pool is closed for maintenance. It is expected to reopen in August at which time UWH will resume.

Pool Time Change for Underwater Hockey

With the finish of the extended summer-time opening hours at the Norville Pool, the pool times for underwater hockey revert back to 5:30pm to 7:00pm on both Wednesday and Friday evenings until the pool closes at the end of April.

Underwater Hockey takes a break over Christmas

Underwater hockey is now in recess for the Christmas period. We will look at resuming hockey again at the Norville Pool on Wednesday 11th January 2023.

UWH to play twice a week from Friday 4th November

With extended summer opening hours now in operation at the Norville Pool, underwater hockey will begin playing two nights a week over the summer period with games on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and on Fridays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Friday night games will start from 4th November.

UWH Restarts at Norville Pool Wednesday 5th October

Underwater hockey will be restarting for the summer season at the Norville Pool in Bundaberg on Wednesday 5th October starting at 5:30pm. New players are always welcome and the first three weeks are free.
