New Zoning Plan for Great Sandy Marine Park takes effect from 21 May 2024

From 21 May 2024, new zoning and designated areas will apply in the Great Sandy Marine Park. Until 21 May, the existing marine park zoning and designated area rules continue to apply.

Registration for 2024 QLD Spearfishing Titles is now Open

The Australian Underwater Federation Queensland and Bundaberg Skindivers Club would like to invite all interested divers to compete in the Queensland Spearfishing Championships to be held in Agnes Waters / 1770, Queensland over the period of 22-24 July 2024.

Preliminary Information Pack for 2024 Qld Spearfishing Titles has been Released

The Australian Underwater Federation Queensland, in conjunction with the Bundaberg Skindivers Club, has released a preliminary information pack for the 2024 Queensland State Spearfishing Titles which are scheduled to be held at Agnes Waters/1770 Queensland over the period of 22nd to 24th June 2024.

Underwater Hockey at Norville is Finishing Soon

The summer season for underwater hockey will be finishing in the Norville Pool at the end of April. Normally, hockey would then move to the heated ISIS War Memorial pool at Childers from the start of May for the winter season, but due to maintenance scheduled for the ISIS pool, the start date for our winter season for this year is still to be finalised, but it won't be before the start of July. Stay tuned for an update closer to that time.

Underwater Hockey is Taking a Break over Xmas

Underwater hockey has finished for 2023. It will restart again at the Norville Pool on Wednesday 10 January 2024.

Underwater Hockey Come and Try Day

The Club will be holding a "Come and Try" day for underwater hockey from 3pm to 5pm on the afternoons of 4th and 5th November at the Norville Park Pool. Just pay for pool entry. Bring your mask, snorkel and fins and have a go at the the best sport you've never heard of.

Underwater Hockey to Restart at Norville

Underwater hockey has now finished at Childers for the winter season, and will be moving back to the Norville Park pool in Bundaberg for summer, starting from Wednesday, 4th October 2023. Playing times will be 5:30pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday and Friday evenings.

Underwater Hockey Restarts at Childers

The ISIS War Memorial Pool at Childers has now re-opened following a two month maintenance shutdown and UWH will be resuming at the pool from Monday 7th August starting at 6:00pm.

Great Sandy Marine Park Review has Completed

The Dept of Environment and Science has just released an update on the Great Sandy Marine Park review process to advise that the review has been completed and it is now awaiting the legislative processes to formalise the changes to the zoning plan, which is expected to come into effect in early 2024.
