Underwater Hockey is taking a short break over the Christmas holidays. It will resume again at 5:30pm on Wednesday 10th January 2018 at the Norville Pool.

UWH Season Restarts at Norville Pool

Underwater hockey will restart in the newly refurbished Norville Park Pool on Wednesday 20th September 2017. The initial playing times will be 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Due to the refurbishments, the pool now has a new playing surface and the water is an additional 200mm deeper.

DAF is Seeking Expressions of Interest for Fishery Working Groups by 22 July 2017

In June 2017 the Queensland Government released the Sustainable Fisheries Strategy 2017-2027, paving the way for Queensland to have a world-class fisheries management system.

A key action of the strategy is to establish fishery-specific working groups to provide operational advice from stakeholders from across the sector in the fisheries management process.

Fisheries Queensland is now seeking expressions of interest for members of the first three fishery working groups being established for the trawl, crab and east coast inshore fisheries.

UWH is in Recess Until September 2017

Underwater Hockey is taking a break over the colder months. It will resume again at the Norville Pool when it re-opens in September. Playing times will be posted closer to the date.

New Time and Place for UWH

Following the closure of the Norville Park Pool for refurbishment over the winter months, underwater hockey has moved to the outdoor heated pool at the Bundaberg Swim Academy on Fitzgerald St. Hockey will continue to be played weekly over winter at the swim academy pool until such time as the Norville Pool re-opens for summer. The new playing time is 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday nights.

GSMP Review Update

With the GSMP Zoning Plan set to expire on 1 September 2017 the Minister for Environment and Heritage Protection, and Minister for National Parks and the Great Barrier Reef, the Honourable Steven Miles MP, has approved a two phase process for the Zoning Plan review.

UWH Season Closes at Norville Pool

Underwater Hockey at the Norville Park Pool has finished for the season as the pool is being shutdown for maintenance. There will be an UWH session at the Bundaberg Swim Academy's smaller heated pool on Fitzgerald Street on Wednesday 3rd May 2017 from 6:00pm to assess if that pool is suitable as an alternate location over winter. If not, UWH is expected to resume at the Norville Pool in September.

UWH Times Have Been Extended

Thanks to the staff of the Norville Park pool, our time slot for playing Underwater Hockey has been extended by 1/2 hour. UWH will now be played from 5:30pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday evenings.

Change to Crayfish Regulations

As from 28 October 2016 recreational fishers in Queensland are no longer required to punch a hole in, or to remove the central flap of, a tropical rock lobster tail. Size and possession limits still apply.
