Great Sandy Marine Park Draft Zoning Plan has been Released
The Queensland Department of the Environment has finally released the draft zoning plan for the Great Sandy Marine Park for public review. The draft has proposed significant changes from the existing plan which has been in force since 2006.
The consultation regulatory impact statement (RIS), proposed zoning maps and other documents as well as information on how to make a submission are all available on their website at https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/coasts-waterways/marine-parks/zoning/gsmp.The Department is seeking feedback on the proposed changes and the closing date for submissions is midnight on Sunday 23 October 2022.

2022 National UWH Titles are on the Gold Coast
The 2022 Australian underwater hockey titles are currently underway on the Gold Coast. The matches are being live streamed on Underwater Hockey Australia's Youtube channel which can be viewed here.

Underwater Hockey takes a Break for Pool Maintenance
Underwater hockey at Childers is taking a break for a couple of weeks whilst maintenance is carried out on the ISIS swimming pool. Hockey will resume again on Monday, 1st August 2022.

Registration for the Australian Spearfishing Titles closes 18 June 2022
The 68th Australian spearfishing championships will be held in the Town of 1770 over the period from 30 July 2022 to 4 August 2022. This will be the first ever nationals pairs event.

Please note the early cut-off date for registrations of 18 June. Nominations for various categories will be opened following the close of Registration on Saturday 18 June 2022.

Underwater Hockey will be moving to Monday nights at Childers from 2nd May
Wednesday 27th April will be the last night for underwater hockey at the Norville Park pool in Bundaberg for the summer season. From 2nd May, play will then change to Monday nights and relocate to the heated ISIS War Memorial pool in Childers for the winter season, with games starting at 6:00pm.
